📷 Identify My Brick

What brick is this?

Find My Brick is designed to help homeowners, builders and DIYers identify a UK brick from a photo, compare close matches and find a suitable replacement. The tool analyses visible characteristics such as colour, texture and brick features to help narrow down the closest catalogue matches.

It is a matching aid rather than a guarantee of an exact manufacturer or product.

What should you photograph?

Take a close-up of the brick face in even natural light. Where possible, include two to four brick faces in the frame so the tool can see repeated colour and texture. Also photograph any unusual detail separately.

Why brick colour alone is not enough

Many UK bricks share similar red, brown, buff or yellow tones. Weathering, staining, cleaning and sunlight can also change the appearance of an existing wall. Texture, dimensions, manufacturing characteristics and markings can therefore be more useful than colour alone.

Best photo tip: avoid heavy shadows, glare and filters. Keep the camera reasonably straight and fill most of the frame with the brickwork.

Do I need to measure the brick?

No. FindMyBrick.uk can be used without measurements. If you know the length, width and height in millimetres, adding them can help distinguish similar-looking bricks.

Can an old brick be identified?

Sometimes. Older and reclaimed bricks can be difficult because their original colour and surface may have changed. A photo can still help narrow the possibilities, but a physical sample should be checked before buying replacement bricks.

Use the brick identifier

Once you have a clear photograph, upload it to FindMyBrick.uk and review the closest suggested catalogue matches. If you are looking for a replacement, compare the suggested match with the physical brick before ordering.
